From Mary Curtsinger of EneryWorks

Over the last 10 years, I have been poisoned by sucalose (Splenda) at least 5 times. It is apparently showing up in white sugar without it being listed as an ingredient.

I am in perfect health, and have had no digestive issues over the decades. When I consume sucralose, unintentionally, my digestion deteriorates. Then i bring foods to my Naturopath to test them, energetically. Over the last 23 years, she has found sucralose in agave nectar, maple syrup, honey, and white sugar. It is never listed as an ingredient. I think it is probably legal still also. IF there is no more than .5 gram per serving, the ingredient does not need to be listed.

This is why I only use Panela now. :) Love it!
